Coyote Outdoor Living CL-Series Built-In Gas Grill
The CL-Series sits in the middle of Coyote’s Gen 3 built-in lineup — above the C-Series in output, safety features, and cooking control, below the SL-Series in premium extras. It’s the model that makes the most sense for serious outdoor kitchen builders who want professional-grade performance, real multi-zone cooking capability, and a thoughtfully designed grill that’s built to last — without stepping into the top-tier price of the SL.
Two Sizes, Same Feature Set
The CL-Series is available in 36″ and 42″ configurations, both built-in only. The 36″ model fits most outdoor kitchen islands and delivers four Infinity Burners across a primary cooking surface sized for a family or a medium-sized gathering. The 42″ model expands the cooking surface for larger groups and more ambitious multi-course meals, while running the same four Infinity Burners with the same total BTU output. Both share the complete CL-Series feature set — the choice between them is purely about how much cooking space your outdoor kitchen calls for.
Infinity Burners™ — 80,000 BTUs
The CL-Series runs four Coyote Infinity Burners™, each producing 20,000 BTUs for a combined output of 80,000 BTUs. The Infinity Burner design delivers consistent heat distribution across the full width of the cooking surface — powerful output without the uneven hot spots that undermine performance on lesser built-in grills. FlameThower ignition lights every burner immediately and reliably without requiring a power connection, a practical advantage in outdoor kitchen installations where running electrical to the grill area isn’t always straightforward.
Heat Zone Separators
Heat zone separators are one of the CL-Series’ most practically useful upgrades over the C-Series. The built-in dividers between burner zones let you run genuinely different temperatures across the cooking surface simultaneously without one zone bleeding into the next. Sear steaks at high heat on one side while holding fish at a lower temperature on the other. Run direct high heat on two zones and indirect low heat on the remaining two. The separators make the CL-Series a true multi-zone grill, not just a grill with multiple burners.
Thermocouple Safety Valve — Standard
The thermocouple safety valve is a Gen 3 CL-Series standard feature that doesn’t get the attention it deserves. If a burner flame goes out for any reason — a wind gust, a grease event, anything — the thermocouple detects the loss of flame and automatically shuts off gas flow to that burner within seconds. No gas buildup, no hazard. For anyone cooking in a permanent outdoor kitchen setup, particularly one that’s part of a home, this is meaningful safety engineering — not a checkbox feature.
Spring-Assisted Easy Lift Hood
The double-walled hood on the CL-Series is heavy by design — two layers of stainless steel retain heat more effectively than a single-wall lid and keep the exterior cooler to the touch during a cook. The spring-assisted Easy Lift mechanism counterbalances that weight so the hood opens smoothly with one hand, even on the 42″ model. It’s the kind of detail that gets used every single cook and makes a real difference over years of regular outdoor kitchen use.
Backlit Knobs and Interior Lighting
The CL-Series introduces backlit precision-engineered control knobs with solid light accents — an upgrade from the standard knobs on the C-Series that adds both nighttime visibility and a refined, finished look to the control panel. Combined with interior halogen lighting that illuminates the cooking surface at the touch of a button, the CL-Series is a genuinely capable after-dark grill. Michigan summer evenings run late, and outdoor entertaining rarely stops at sunset.
Wind Guard, Always On
The integrated wind guard is standard across all Gen 3 Coyote models, including the CL-Series. It shields the burner area from wind that would otherwise disrupt flame stability and heat distribution — a feature that matters more in Michigan’s variable outdoor conditions than it might in a more sheltered climate. Consistent heat output regardless of what the weather is doing is a baseline requirement for a grill installed in a permanent outdoor kitchen, and the wind guard delivers it.
Propane or Natural Gas
The CL-Series is available in both propane and natural gas in both the 36″ and 42″ sizes. Natural gas is the cleaner, lower-maintenance solution for permanent outdoor kitchen installations with a direct gas line. Propane is available for setups where a gas line isn’t accessible. Our team at Fireplace Gallery can help you determine which fuel type and size fits your outdoor kitchen plan.
Warranty
Coyote backs the CL-Series with a lifetime warranty on the stainless steel frame and burners, 5 years on cooking grids, 2 years on flavorizer bars and electrical components, and 1 year on ignition systems and valves.
