Coyote Outdoor Living 50″ Hybrid Charcoal & Gas Built-In Grill

The debate between gas and charcoal doesn’t have a wrong answer — they produce genuinely different results, and serious cooks have always known that. The Coyote 50″ Hybrid is built for anyone who doesn’t want to pick a side. Two hoods, two separate cooking zones, one 50″ built-in unit: a full gas grill on the left and a full charcoal grill on the right, running simultaneously in a single outdoor kitchen island.

Two Complete Grills in One Unit

The Hybrid isn’t a gas grill with a charcoal drawer bolted on as an afterthought. Each side is a fully developed, independently functional cooking zone with its own hood, its own cooking surface, and its own heat management system. The gas side runs two Coyote Infinity Burners producing 40,000 BTUs across 600 square inches of primary cooking surface. The charcoal side runs an adjustable fuel tray with upper and lower vent dampers across its own 600 square inch cooking surface.

Both sides operate independently. Sear steaks on the gas side at high heat while slow-cooking ribs over charcoal on the other. Run the charcoal side for everything that benefits from wood-fire flavor while keeping the gas side available for vegetables, sides, or anything that needs precise temperature control. The 1,200 square inches of total cooking area between the two zones is enough to run a full outdoor kitchen spread without anything crowding anything else.

The Gas Side — Speed and Control

The gas grill zone runs on two Coyote Infinity Burners delivering 40,000 BTUs of consistent, even heat. Individually controlled burners let you set up different heat zones across the 600 square inch primary surface — high direct heat on one side, lower indirect heat on the other. The push-and-turn ignition with backlit LED control knobs makes lighting fast and reliable, and interior halogen lighting keeps the cooking surface visible after dark.

The integrated wind guard shields the burner area for consistent flame performance in outdoor conditions — a practical feature on a grill that may be exposed to unpredictable weather. The double-walled hood retains heat efficiently during closed-lid cooking and keeps the exterior cooler to the touch while the grill is running.

The Charcoal Side — Flavor That Gas Can’t Replicate

The charcoal zone is built around an adjustable fuel tray with a crank assembly that raises and lowers the charcoal bed to control heat output. Raise the tray for high-heat direct grilling. Lower it for lower-and-slower indirect cooking. Upper and lower vent dampers give you precise airflow control — the same mechanism that experienced charcoal cooks use to manage temperature across a long cook. The charcoal side works equally well with lump charcoal or wood chips, giving you flexibility in the flavor profile you’re building.

The adjustable tray system is what separates a well-designed charcoal grill from a basic one. Distance from the coals and airflow are the two variables that control charcoal cooking temperature — the Hybrid gives you independent control over both.

304 Stainless Steel Throughout

The entire 50″ Hybrid is built from continuously welded 304 stainless steel — the same grade used in commercial kitchen equipment, chosen for its corrosion resistance and long-term durability in outdoor exposure. Continuously welded construction means there are no gaps or seams where grease and moisture collect and cause corrosion over time. A removable warming rack provides additional space above the main cooking surface for holding finished food at temperature across either zone.

The dual-hood design keeps each cooking environment independent — gas heat stays on the gas side, charcoal smoke stays on the charcoal side, and you get the full benefit of each method without cross-contamination between zones.

Built for a Permanent Outdoor Kitchen

The Coyote 50″ Hybrid is a built-in unit designed to drop into an outdoor kitchen island at a 47¾” cutout width. It’s a statement piece for any outdoor kitchen — visually distinct from a standard single-hood grill and practically capable in ways that no single-fuel grill can match. For anyone building a serious outdoor kitchen around entertaining, the Hybrid turns that kitchen into a complete outdoor cooking station.

Propane or Natural Gas

The Hybrid is available in propane and natural gas. Natural gas is the cleaner, lower-maintenance solution for permanent outdoor kitchen installations with a direct gas line. Propane is available for setups where a gas line isn’t accessible. Our team at Fireplace Gallery can help you determine which fuel type fits your outdoor kitchen plan.

Warranty

Coyote backs the Hybrid with a lifetime warranty on the stainless steel frame and burners, 5 years on cooking grids, 2 years on flavorizer bars and electrical components, and 1 year on ignition systems and valves.
